Joy, held back by the Churban
The glass broken under the chuppah
“If I forget you, Yerushalayim”
Three wars
Vespasian's war: no groom's crowns, no drum
Restrictivedecreed
Crowns of flowers — or of gold
The iros: a drum to keep the beat
Titus's war: no bride's crowns — and no teaching one's son Greek
Restrictivedecreed
Or Kitos's war, some forty years on
The “city of gold” crown
The last war: the bride's litter
MishnahForbidden — the last war’s decree→ she may not be carried in a litter
RabboseinuPermitted→ she may — it is more modest
Sotah 9:14
The Gezeiros of the Wars
