Gourds that he kept for seed -
if they hardened before Rosh Hashana and became unfit for human food, it is permitted to keep them in Sheviis.
And if not, it is forbidden to keep them in Sheviis.
Their shoots are forbidden in Sheviis.
One may water the soil of a grain field, the words of Rabbi Shimon;
Rabbi Eliezer ben Yaakov forbids [it].
One may soak the rice in Sheviis,
Rabbi Shimon says: but one may not trim [it]:
A reading aid, not an exact translation.

This English is a clause-by-clause rendering to help you follow the Hebrew. It is not word-for-word literal, and it is not a transcript of the recorded shiur — the audio carries explanation and context the translation deliberately leaves out.
