הַבְּצָלִים הַסָּרִיסִים, וּפוֹל הַמִּצְרִי, שֶׁמָּנַע מֵהֶם מַיִם שְׁלֹשִׁים יוֹם לִפְנֵי רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה,
מִתְעַשְּׂרִין לְשֶׁעָבַר, וּמֻתָּרִים בַּשְּׁבִיעִית,
וְאִם לָאו, אֲסוּרִים בַּשְּׁבִיעִית, וּמִתְעַשְּׂרִין לְשָׁנָה הַבָּאָה.
וְשֶׁל בַּעַל שֶׁמָּנַע מֵהֶם מַיִם שְׁתֵּי עוֹנוֹת, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר.
וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים, שָׁלֹשׁ:
Seedless onions and the Egyptian bean, from which he withheld water for thirty days before Rosh Hashana,
are tithed by the previous year, and are permitted in Sheviis,
and if not, they are forbidden in Sheviis, and are tithed by the coming year.
And those of a rain-fed field from which water was withheld [for] two rain-periods, the words of Rabbi Meir.
