מְקַרְסְמִין, מְזָרְדִין, מְפַסְּלִין, עַד רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה.
רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אוֹמֵר, כְּזֵרוּדָהּ וּכְפִסּוּלָהּ שֶׁל חֲמִשִּׁית, כָּךְ שֶׁל שִׁשִּׁית.
רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר, כָּל זְמַן שֶׁאֲנִי רַשַּׁאי בַּעֲבוֹדַת הָאִילָן, רַשַּׁאי אֲנִי בְּפִסּוּלוֹ:
One may clear stones until Rosh Hashana.
One may trim, prune, and cut away [excess], until Rosh Hashana.
Rabbi Yehoshua says: as its pruning and cutting-away in the fifth year, so in the sixth.
Rabbi Shimon says: as long as I am permitted the work of the tree, I am permitted its cutting-away:
