One may not give [Sheviis proceeds]
not to a well-keeper,
nor to a bathhouse attendant,
nor to a barber,
nor to a boatman.
But one may give to a water-keeper for drinking [water].
And to all of them, one may give as a free gift:
A reading aid, not an exact translation.

This English is a clause-by-clause rendering to help you follow the Hebrew. It is not word-for-word literal, and it is not a transcript of the recorded shiur — the audio carries explanation and context the translation deliberately leaves out.

CaseRulingReason
May Sheviis produce or its proceeds be given to the well-keeper, the bathhouse attendant, the barber, or the boatman? No — paying for a service is not a Sheviis use
And what of paying the well-keeper for drinking water?Yes — that is buying food, not a service fee
How may these workers nonetheless receive Sheviis produce? As a free gift (matnas chinam) — nothing stipulated; the service follows on its own
Transcript
A machine transcript of the recorded shiur.

This is the shiur as spoken, transcribed automatically and left unedited — the wording is Ephraim's, and occasional transcription errors remain. It follows the audio word by word.
